Real Kakamora FC one of the top teams in the National Soccer League has demonstrated true Melanesian solidarity by reaching out to support the people of Vanuatu, who are suffering and recovering from the devastation caused by a recent earthquake and landslides.
On Sunday night, at the SINIS High-Performance Centre, the club’s management and players officially handed over their donation, comprising two bags of clothes and SBD 2,000 in cash.
This meaningful gesture reflects the club’s commitment to unity and kindness—not just in sports but in every facet of life.
Representing the club during the handover were President Noel Hakopes, Team Manager Jeremy Bosokuru, and player representative Kieran Israel. They expressed the club’s heartfelt desire to assist and highlighted the importance of standing together during times of need.
“The Melanesian spirit is something we should nurture—not only in sports but in acts of kindness and support like this,” the club stated during the event.
This act of generosity underscores the close ties between Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, nations bonded through shared histories, marriages, education, religion, and cultural values.
Real Kakamora FC’s initiative serves as a reminder of the strength of Melanesian unity and the importance of helping one another in times of crisis.
The club’s effort is a rallying call for others within the Solomon Islands to step forward and contribute towards supporting the people of Vanuatu during this challenging situation.
Together, we can make a significant impact. Let’s carry the Melanesian spirit forward by standing in solidarity with our Vanuatu brothers and sisters.
A two days music concert “Honiara for Vanuatu” has raised around $60,000.00 with other kind donations. The free music concert held last weekend at the Youth Hub was co-hosted by Honiara Bands Association, musicians in collaboration with Yumi Toktok Forum.
