Angel Tree Program hosted for Inmates Children

Gizo Correctional Centre (GCC) in Western Province, has recently celebrated the Angel Tree Program for Inmates, families and their children in the Centre.

The Program connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts, sharing of gospel messages and personal messages of love on behalf of their parent who spend their time in GCC.

GCC Deputy Commandant Staff Sergeant Simbe Kava welcome and acknowledged the Seventh Day Adventist Prison Ministry, Inmates Families and GCC staff for this significant event, hosted once a year.

He adds, An Angel Tree event is a special opportunity that allows children of their parent who locked behind bars to come together and support individuals and families who may be facing challenges during the holiday season.

“This build and maintain relationships between parents and children and also remind children that their parent loves and cares for them”.

Deputy Simbe thanked the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Prison Ministry Co-Ordinator Mr. Troy Apusae and his Team for their steadfast support in providing gifts for the inmate’s children, and also the foods and drinks provided for this event.
