NAMOBAULA CONNECTED TO THE WORLD

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) through its partnership with the Food Agriculture Organisation FAO has connected Namobaula community in Ward 2 Central Kwaraáe of Malaita Province to the rest of the world, thanks to FAO’s Digital Village Initiate (DVI) project.

Last Friday, Permanent Secretary of MAL Dr. Samson Viulu and FAO Solomon Islands representative Douglas Yee launched and handover the DVI facility to the community.

Through collaboration, hard work, and persistence, the DVI project have successfully built and equip the facility with laptops, TV screen, camera, 50 chairs, smart design tables and advance digital conference equipment, high-speed internet, and e-learning tools, aims to connect Namobaula village with other parts of the country, the region and the world.

The agriculture-oriented initiative was envisioned to empower rural farmers through digital access to agriculture information, online resources, and service that will enhance farming productivity at the village level.
