The Community Benefits Sharing Project (CBSP) team has taken a significant step toward empowering local communities with the launch of livelihood training in the Belaha Zone. Recently, 29 participants successfully completed their certification in root Crop Production & Management, marking a great start in the project’s mission to enhance food security and create sustainable income opportunities.
This training program is designed to equip participants with advanced farming techniques, enabling them to improve crop yields and adopt more efficient agricultural practices. By focusing on root crop production, the initiative not only aims to boost local food production but also to open doors for additional income-generating activities. These skills are expected to have a direct and positive impact on the daily lives of the participants and their families.
The success of the Belaha Zone training is just the beginning. The CBSP team has announced plans to expand similar programs to other zones within the Bahomea/Malango Area throughout the year. These efforts reflect the project’s commitment to supporting community resilience and self-reliance through education and skill development.
As the CBSP continues to roll out these initiatives, the hope is that more individuals will gain the tools they need to improve their livelihoods, contribute to local food security, and build a brighter future for their communities. This project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and education in driving sustainable development.
