The Solomon Islands Full Gospel Association (SIFGA) has received recently a $150,000 donation from the Peoples Republic of China for street LED lights to SIFGA communities in the Solomon Islands.
In receiving the donation, SIFGA extended their sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and the Government of the Solomon Islands, through the Office of the Prime Minister, for their endorsement.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in improving public infrastructure, enhancing safety, and contributing to sustainable development across the country, a statement issued by the PRC Embassy and SIFGA, states.
It states that the street lighting project will improve visibility in urban and rural areas, promoting both security and economic activity, particularly after dark. Adding, it is a vital contribution to the well-being of our citizens, and the SIFGA commends both the Chinese Government and the Solomon Islands Government for their partnership and cordial in this important initiative.
“This collaboration marks a significant step forward in improving public infrastructure, enhancing safety, and contributing to sustainable development across the country. The street lighting project, a key component of this initiative, will enhance visibility in both urban and rural areas, fostering security and stimulating economic activity, particularly after dark. This is a vital contribution to the well-being of our citizens,” the statement, says.
It further states that in a pivotal development, many of the SIFGA churches have also operationalized schools which reinforces the broader goal of sustainable development by fostering human capital growth, which this project harness in many ways.
SIFGA recognizes the long-standing relationship between the Solomon Islands and the People’s Republic of China and is grateful for the continued support shown in projects that benefit the people of the Solomon Islands. This partnership is a testament to the spirit of cooperation, goodwill, and shared development goals that continue to strengthen ties between our nations.
