This week, BRED Bank welcomed a group of Year 7 and 8 students from Woodford’s Life Skills class for an exciting and informative educational experience that extended learning beyond the classroom. The initiative aimed to introduce students to the world of financial institutions and provide them with a deeper understanding of banking operations.

Upon arrival, the students were greeted warmly by Ms. Jessa, the Human Resource Manager at BRED Bank, who made them feel right at home. The students were then guided through engaging presentations from the bank’s Transactions and Electronic Banking Departments. The presentations covered a range of topics, from how transactions are processed to the digital tools used in modern banking. This hands-on experience provided the students with a unique insight into the banking world, something that is often not fully explored in the classroom.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity for the students to ask questions directly to banking professionals. This interaction allowed the students to clarify their understanding and gain knowledge about the importance of financial institutions in everyday life.

The aim of the visit was not just to teach students about banking, but also to equip them with skills they can apply in their own lives. By learning about electronic banking and understanding how transactions work, the students are now better prepared to manage their finances in the future.
For the students, the experience was both educational and fun, giving them a practical and tangible lesson in the real-world workings of a bank. Many students expressed excitement about the opportunity to learn firsthand from professionals in the industry.

BRED Bank’s effort to provide such opportunities shows its commitment to supporting educational initiatives and supporting future generations’ understanding of financial literacy. With the valuable insights they gained during this visit, the students are sure to carry forward a stronger understanding of how banks operate and the importance of financial management.
