Government officials and dignitaries gathered at the National Parliament Chambers to pay their respects to the Late Fr. Sir John Ini Lapli, the 4th Governor General of Solomon Islands.
His body was laid in state, allowing officials alike to honor his significant contributions to the nation.
A funeral service will be held today at the St. Barnabas Cathedral at approximately 3pm, where family, friends, and colleagues will come together to celebrate his life and legacy.
Following the service, the late Sir John Ini Lapli will be transported to Temotu Province via a patrol boat this evening for his final rites.
Sir John Ini Lapli is remembered for his distinguished service to the country, leaving a lasting impact on the people and the nation.
