The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) held a community outreach program at Naha community recently.
The event aimed at raising awareness on issues such as kwaso (homebrew), drug abuse, cyber bullying, family violence, and other forms of crime in the community.
Officer in Charge (OIC) Naha Station, Inspector Roy Sade, expressed deep gratitude for the community’s continued support and encouraged more joint efforts in the fight against crime.
Inspector Sade also reaffirmed police unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety in the communities.
Deputy Team Leader (TL) CPLT Fan Guangxin reinforced the team’s dedication to support RSIPF in community policing and combating drug-related crimes.
TL Fan highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and local residents.
National Community Policing Coordinator for emerging issues, Sergeant Cheong Tamaeri provided an insightful talk focused on the five primary drivers of crime and elaborate on alcohol, drug abuse, cyber-enabled crime, and family violence.
Naha community chairman Mr. Robert Pisu, calls for the continuation of such joint initiatives and expresses appreciation for games, awareness talks, and donations.
Chairman Pisu said the spirit of togetherness is one of the core values we promote in our community. By working together and understanding each other’s boundaries, we can combat crime at its roots—within our homes.
Sport items were donated to encourage children to engage in physical activities which not only improve health but also foster teamwork and discipline.
Officers also took part in group games with the children, promoting values such as collaboration and perseverance.
The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by Naha residents. Children proudly displayed their connection to their culture, showcasing the traditional dances that reflect the rich heritage of Solomon Islands.
The National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) and CPLT will work together and engage with the local communities in organizing more awareness talks and fostering a positive atmosphere in the neighbourhood.
