Training is currently underway in the Western Provincial Capital Gizo for Western and Choiseul Province participants, who will participate in the National Economic Establishment Census, NEEC, 2024.
Chief Statistician Economics Andrew Kakate said he is pleased with the progress of the program so far and commended the participants for grasping quite easily the information shared during the first day of training.
This is the second training program for the NEEC.
The first one was held for Honiara, Central, Guadalcanal and Ren-bel province participants which concluded on Thursday last week.
The NEEC seeks to update the Statistical Business Register and serve as the foundation for all business statistics and Gross Domestic Estimates, GDP and SINSO is partnering with the Solomon Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the World Bank in the operation.
It is conducted under the Statistical Law (Amendment Act. 2007) and hence the business communities are legally obliged to cooperate and provide the requested information as complete and accurate as possible
