As the government through the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD) prepares for the implementation of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) programme for this year, Constituency Development Officer (CDO) for Hograno-Kia-Havulei (HKH), Apollos Manegere is calling on community leaders and constituents to unite and work together for the betterment of HKH constituency.
CDO Manegere made the call during a series of CDF Act awareness facilitated by MRD officials in the constituency this week. The series of awareness in collaboration with MRD is part of the constituency’s office preparatory effort to ensure constituents have a better understanding and inform about the new CDF law before this year’s CDF program could be implemented for HKH.
He said unity is the only way forward for HKH constituency. No more, no less.
“We need a collective action. We need to put aside our divisions and come together to support the greater cause for the benefit of our children and future generations. Let us not allow petty politics and our personal differences to ruin our determination to develop our constituency,” CDO Manegere said.
He emphasised that this is the time that requires everyone to unite and act selflessly and to put the interest of our people (constituents) first.
“To move HKH forward, we must unite and work together for a common purpose which is to progress the constituency’s development aspirations for the benefit of everyone.
“We need to change our mindset and work together in accordance to the new CDF law.
“The journey ahead will be challenging and that requires everyone’s collective effort. We must start together and move together for the progress of our constituency,” Mr. Manegere underscored.
He further said that the time is now if we want change.
“It is time that HKH constituents must let go of or change some of our past bad practices and comply to the new CDF law which is now enforced to avoid fronting legal consequences.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Menegere thanked HKH community chiefs, leaders and constituents for their understanding and support to the constituency office over the past years.
CDO Manegere, on behalf of the Member of Parliament for HKHC, Honourable Jeremiah Manele shared his appreciation for the MRD team for the awareness program and, he is looking forward to working closely with everyone for the advancement of the HKH constituency and its people.
