PM Manele meets with former PNG PM O’Neil in Honiara

The Prime Minister, the Honorable Jeremiah Manele received a courtesy call today from the former Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and current Member of Parliament, the Honorable Peter O’Neil, MP.

MP O’Neil used the visit to provide investment advice and highlight opportunities for the government’s consideration.

He emphasized that Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Islands should foster greater business partnerships to expand opportunities across various sectors.

Prime Minister Manele acknowledged the presence of Papua New Guinea-owned companies operating in Honiara.
The Prime Minister also expressed support for business partnerships, emphasizing that fostering such collaborations is a key government policy.

Prime Minister Manele encouraged MP O’Neil to explore investment opportunities in the country, highlighting agriculture and tourism as two key sectors where the government is currently investing and seeking partnerships

He further promoted the Bina Harbor project, urging partnerships and investment in its development.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to MP O’Neil during his visit to the country. O’Neil is scheduled to depart Honiara tomorrow.
