HAPPY 47TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS
We offer our sincere greetings to the Government and people of Solomon Islands as we celebrate our status as a sovereign nation every July 7th in our calendar since 1978. The theme “”Unity and Stability for Transformation and Prosperity”” continues to be a constant reminder of our 47-year journey and should be a theme reflective of our journey ahead.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade’s core mandate is to promote, advance and defend the country’s foreign policy goals and objectives which are premised on building and maintaining mutually beneficial international relations and economic ties with diplomatic partners both bilateral and multilateral levels. Recently, our Labour mobility programs has been of significant importance for Solomon Islanders, by providing employment to thousands of people, thus improving their standards of living through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) and Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) schemes.
We will continue to promote and protect the values, interests and well-being of Solomon Islands and its citizens through international diplomacy and cooperation.
