JBS Beef City, one of Australia’s leading meat processing plants, has recruited 20 new workers from the Solomon Islands following a successful in-country recruitment drive earlier this week.
Held over three days, the recruitment process included fitness assessments, interviews, and a family briefing session, the first of its kind for an overseas recruitment campaign. The session aimed to help families better understand the job expectations and support systems available, fostering trust between the employer and the families of workers.

“We are a family-oriented company and care about our workers’ wellbeing,” said a JBS representative. “We want families to understand the job and build mutual trust.”

Patrick Kaka, Deputy Director of the Labour Mobility Unit, expressed gratitude to JBS for its continued interest in Solomon Islands workers, stating, “We look forward to more collaboration in future.”
JBS Australia operates 12 processing plants across the country and continues to seek skilled workers annually as part of its growing workforce needs.
