Two representatives from the National Parliament of the Solomon Islands recently attended the 2025 Parliamentary Professional Services Network (PPSN) Conference, held from 23–25 July in Perth, Western Australia.
Hosted under the theme “Your Career, Your Move – Building Capability for Better Parliaments”, the conference brought together parliamentary professionals from across the Pacific and Australia for three days of intensive professional development, networking, and knowledge exchange.

Mr. Jason Rimamata and Ms. Angelina Nunumae represented the Solomon Islands Parliament at the event, engaging in a range of workshops and sessions focused on strengthening parliamentary institutions.
Key outcomes of the conference included:
· Strengthening Professional Capability: Expert-led workshops enhanced participants’ skills in leadership, career development, and institutional effectiveness.
· Enhancing Regional Collaboration: Delegates built and deepened peer networks across the Pacific to foster ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing.
· Facilitating Cross-Jurisdictional Learning: Case studies and interactive sessions encouraged the adaptation of successful governance and workplace practices to local contexts.
· Inspiring Institutional Development: Presentations on ethical governance, diversity, inclusion, and staff wellbeing provided insights to support future policy reforms within the Solomon Islands Parliament.

Participation in the PPSN 2025 Conference reflects the Solomon Islands Parliament’s continuing commitment to staff development and to contributing to stronger, more effective parliamentary institutions throughout the Pacific region.
